Answer
Lightning Payroll offers the same features, employee limits, and company limits on both monthly and annual subscriptions. The only difference is how you are billed.
Annual Subscriptions
- Paid once every 12 months.
- You can pay by credit card or by Direct Deposit (we issue an invoice).
- Auto-renewal is optional — you can turn it on or off at any time.
- If auto-renewal is on, we email a renewal notice about 30 days before expiry and a reminder 1 day before. If it is off, you renew manually before the expiry date.
Monthly Subscriptions
- Paid once each month.
- Credit card only — direct bank deposit is not available for monthly plans.
- Auto-renewal is always on and cannot be turned off. To stop a monthly subscription you cancel it, and it stays active until the end of the current month.
- No advance reminder is sent. You receive a confirmation and invoice on the day the subscription renews.
Things to Know
- If a renewal payment fails (for example, an expired card), it is not retried automatically — the subscription expires and you will need to renew manually.
- If you renew before your current period ends, the new period is added to the end of the existing one, so you do not lose any remaining time.
- Refunds are not provided for unused time. See Can I Get a Refund or Is There a Money-Back Guarantee?
