How Do I Retrieve Existing Employment Details Relationships From IRD?

The Employee Details Dashboard can retrieve existing Employment Details relationships from Inland Revenue so you can compare what IRD currently holds against your employee records.

How to retrieve relationships

1. Open the Employee Details Dashboard from the Pays area.
2. Connect to IRD and retrieve a token if prompted. See How Do I Connect Lightning Payroll To Inland Revenue For Payday Filing? for guidance.
3. Click the Relationships tab inside the dashboard.
4. Choose either a specific employee from the list or tick Retrieve all employees to query all staff at once.
5. Click Retrieve selected and review the returned details in the IRD retrieve response panel.

What you need first

• The company IRD number must be recorded. See Why Does Lightning Payroll Say My Company IRD Number Is Missing Or Invalid? if you need help with that.
• You need a valid IRD token for the session.
• If you are not retrieving all employees, make sure you select the employee you want to query before clicking Retrieve selected.

This is useful when you want to confirm whether a person already has an Employment Details relationship on the IRD side before you submit further updates.
