Answer
An otherwise-working-day decision is needed for public holidays, alternative holidays, sick leave, bereavement leave, and family violence leave.
Use the employee's employment agreement, roster, work pattern, pay history, and reasonable expectations for that date. In Lightning Payroll, check Leave Settings for ordinary hours, hours per working day, and manual work pattern, then check the actual roster or pay history if the pattern varies.
If the employer and employee have not decided whether the date was otherwise working, do not guess by changing balances. Get the decision recorded, then enter the pay row or manual adjustment that follows from that decision.
