Sick, bereavement, and family violence leave entitlements are day-based, but employers can agree to treat absences as hours or part-days.
- If the employer deducts a full day, pay the full-day amount and enter one day.
- For a part-day, the unit available depends on the leave type: Sick is entered in Days (use a fractional day), while Bereavement and Family Violence are entered in Hours. Enter the agreed quantity and, if needed, override the rate so the Value matches the agreed amount.
- Keep the description clear so support can see why the row is not a whole day.
For Bereavement and Family Violence rows there is no separate leave balance ledger. The pay row records the payment and the audit trail for that pay.
