Answer
Use the Sick leave type when the employee is eligible and the absence is for the employee, their partner, child, or other dependant.
- Edit the pay and add a row to the Leave Taken section.
- Set Type to Sick.
- Sick Leave is recorded in Days.
- Enter the Quantity, date, and rate; the Value calculates automatically.
- Check the Sick balance on the Leave Entitlement/Adjustments tab, or click How is this balance calculated? for the full breakdown.
Sick Leave is day-based. If the employer agrees to treat a part-day absence as a fraction of a day, enter the agreed quantity in days. Otherwise, follow the employment agreement and statutory day-based treatment.
