Lightning Payroll gives extra tools around leave taken so you can work with units, Alternative Holidays, and due leave grants directly from the pay screen.
Entering leave taken
When you add leave taken in a pay, Lightning Payroll can show specific units such as weeks, days, or hours depending on the leave type. It also calculates valuation information so you can see how the leave pay is being worked out.
Alternative Holidays
If a public holiday falls within the pay run and the employee worked what would otherwise have been a working day, Lightning Payroll can prompt you to record an Alternative Holiday. You can also use the button in the leave section of the pay to record an Alternative Holiday manually.
Insert due grants
The leave balances area can show an Insert due grants button when leave grants are ready to be added. This helps drop any owed annual holiday or sick leave grants into the balances as of the selected date.
Practical tip
Make sure the employee's work pattern, hours per week, and hours per day are set correctly first, because those values affect how leave quantities and valuations are converted and displayed.
