The work pattern tells Lightning Payroll which days are normally working days for the employee. It affects unit conversion, public holiday handling, and daily leave valuation.
Open Employees >> Leave >> Leave Settings. If the employee has a fixed pattern, tick Manually set work pattern and choose the normal working days. If the pattern changes regularly, leave it unticked so Lightning Payroll can derive the pattern from pay and roster data where available.
Also check ordinary hours per week and hours per working day. Those values are used when leave is entered in hours but the underlying balance is weeks or days.
