Answer
For a rehired employee, first decide whether this is a new employment relationship or a continuation of the earlier one. That decision affects the start date, anniversaries, sick qualification, annual holidays, and final pay history.
- If employment ended and the final pay was completed, set up the new employment period with the correct new start date and opening balances.
- If the employment relationship continued, keep the continuous-service date and correct the leave ledger only where needed.
- Use Employment Dates to check the start date and employment history displayed by the product.
If the legal treatment is uncertain, confirm the employer's decision before changing start dates or leave balances.
