Answer
Employment Relations Education (ERE) leave is paid leave for qualifying union members attending approved employment relations courses. It is not one of the statutory leave balances shown in the Leave Taken dropdown.
- Confirm the union notice, approved course, employee dates, and allocated ERE entitlement.
- Pay the employee in the usual manner of regular pay or through a custom paid leave/pay item used by the employer.
- Do not reduce annual holidays, sick leave, family violence leave, bereavement leave, or alternative holiday balances.
If the request may unreasonably disrupt the business, or the entitlement allocation is unclear, escalate before changing pay or leave records.
