How Do I Handle Public Holidays While An Employee Is On ACC?

ACC cases depend on whether the employee is in the employer-paid first week, receiving weekly ACC compensation, and whether the public holiday is an otherwise working day.

• If the employer is paying first-week compensation and the public holiday is payable, enter the Public Holiday payment as required.
• If the employee is receiving weekly ACC compensation, do not automatically deduct Sick Leave or Annual Holidays.
• If the employer makes a top-up payment, enter it using the employer's chosen pay item and keep a note.
