Answer
Regional anniversary days are public holidays for employees covered by that regional holiday. Lightning Payroll does not decide the correct regional anniversary for the employer; the employer must know which anniversary day applies.
- Check the employee's workplace, agreement, and applicable regional anniversary day.
- If the employee is paid for the day off, enter a Public Holiday row on the correct date.
- If the employee works and the day is otherwise working, pay the worked time at the public holiday rate and record an Alternative Holiday if required.
For historical pays, use Employment NZ's public holiday and anniversary date tables to confirm the exact date.
