Answer
For shift workers, rostered hospitality staff, health workers, security staff, and other variable employees, the work pattern drives otherwise-working-day decisions and day/hour conversions.
- If the employee has a stable repeating pattern, turn on Manually set work pattern and select the normal working days.
- If the employee's days genuinely vary, leave the manual pattern off and use pay history, rosters, and the employer's decision when entering leave.
- Keep ordinary hours per week and hours per working day up to date. These values convert hours to days or weeks on the pay screen.
When a public holiday, sick day, bereavement day, family violence day, or alternative holiday is unclear, decide whether the date was an otherwise working day before entering the pay row.
