What Leave Settings Should I Use For A Part-Time Employee?

Part-time employees still use the statutory leave model. Do not convert four weeks of annual holidays into a fixed full-time number of days. Annual Holidays are held in weeks and then converted using the employee's work pattern and standard hours when leave is paid.

1. Set Annual holidays per year to 4 weeks unless the employment agreement gives more.
2. Enter the employee's ordinary hours per week and hours per working day.
3. If the employee works fixed days, tick Manually set work pattern and select those days.
4. If the employee works changing days, leave the manual pattern off and check the leave row carefully when leave is taken.

Sick Leave and Alternative Holidays are day-based balances. Once a part-time employee qualifies for sick leave, do not pro-rate the statutory sick leave days just because they work part time.
