Statutory leave balances are not stored as one shared hours balance. Lightning Payroll shows each balance in the unit used by the statutory leave model.
- Annual Holidays: weeks.
- Sick Leave: days.
- Alternative Holidays: days.
You can still enter some leave taken rows in hours. Lightning Payroll converts those hours using the employee's ordinary hours per week, hours per working day, and work pattern, then deducts the correct native-unit balance.
For this reason the Leave Balances screen inside a pay is read-only for statutory leave. Use Leave Entitlement Adjustments if a balance needs correcting.
